Accelerating Automotive Software Development — Seamless AI-Driven Workflows from Cloud to Car with AWS

STREAM B | Case Study

Monday, June 22

11:10 am - 11:35 am

Live in Berlin

Less Details

This presentation explores a revolutionary approach to automotive software development that leverages the power of AWS, GitLab, and Amazon Q to create a seamless, efficient, and quality-driven workflow. We demonstrate how the integration of a generative AI GitLab Duo assistant based on Amazon Q, combined with deep-linking capabilities into developer workspaces transforms the software development lifecycle for the automotive industry. The workflow begins with AI-assisted code generation and review, allowing developers to interact with their familiar toolchain while receiving intelligent suggestions and automated checks. We then showcase the seamless transition from development to testing through deployment into a virtual electric electronic (vEE) architecture, enabling rapid iteration and validation of software changes. A key highlight of this approach is the binary parity maintained between the virtual testing environment and physical targets, including test benches and actual vehicles. This consistency ensures that artifacts created and tested in the cloud can be confidently deployed to real-world automotive systems with minimal friction. We will discuss how this cloud-centric workflow dramatically improves software delivery speed and quality on a global scale. By enabling collaboration between OEMs, Tier suppliers, and globally distributed teams through shared cloud environments, we break down traditional barriers in automotive software development.

This session will present:

  • Integrated AI-driven development workflows: Utilizing AWS, GitLab, and Amazon Q for AI-assisted code generation, review, and quality checks
  • Global collaboration and efficiency: A cloud-based workflow that connects OEMs, Tier suppliers, and distributed teams, accelerating software delivery
  • Seamless cloud-to-car pipeline: Enabling smooth transitions from development to deployment using virtual electronic architectures for rapid iteration
  • Binary parity across environments: Ensuring consistency between virtual testing and real-world deployment on test benches and vehicles
