Less Details

UX is a multidisciplinary approach based on an iterative test-and-learn process in order to improve the design. Mockups and HMI prototypes are essential in this iterative process for designing and conducting expert assessments or user tests. In recent years, virtual tools have advanced significantly, providing new opportunities to digitalize mockups and prototypes and iterate more efficiently. In this communication, I aim to give an overview of the possibilities offered by VR tools specifically in automotive design, map their applications in the UX approach, and address the related questions and challenges.

  • Iterative UX approach and evolution of prototyping solutions towards VR
  • Evolution of VR tools (such as VR headsets, VR tools, plugin, phygital, monitoring) including illustration of tools used at Stellantis
  • Which tools are suitable for specific UX needs (such as design, evaluation, communication)?
  • Pros and cons of VR tools
  • Questions and challenges related to using VR tools in the UX field
